Seeking Employment
If you are looking for a job, make an appointment to meet with our Job Specialist who offers one-on-one help finding a job: resume writing, interview practice, filling out job applications, and identifying local jobs.
Work Permit & Work Experience Credit
After you are hired at your new place of employment, download this Work Permit Application, complete it, and return it to your employer for their signature.
Then turn-in the form to your teacher, who will have our work experience coordinator create an official work permit for you to submit to your employer.
Ask your teacher about how to earn credit for your work experience.

Earning College Credit as a Cabin Leader
Students receive 2 college credits for ED80, and 1 credit for ED80L for one week of service as a Cabin Leader.
ED80: a lecture course that provides a general introduction to educational theory and practice. The course can be taken at Cabrillo College or online. The on-campus lecture is 2 hours a week, and the online class is organized by modules. This class is worth 2 college units.
ED80L: the Service Learning component to ED80. High school students satisfy the 56 volunteer hours during one week of service as a Cabin Leader at the Santa Cruz County Outdoor Science School. This class is worth 1 college unit.
High school students must enroll in ED80 before their week of service as a Cabin Leader. To apply, students need to complete a Dual Enrollment Form and return it to Cabrillo College Admissions, webreg@cabrillo.edu.
Questions regarding ED80 can be directed to the course instructor, Professor Mary Soltis masoltis@cabrillo.edu. The course is free for high school students, however students will pay a small registration fee.
